“Whiners don’t do different things, they do think differently”
Chapter 1: Importance of Birth Control
There was a man who made a living selling condoms at a brothel. He had all colors of condoms, including red, yellow, blue, and green. Whenever business was slow, he would release a helium-filled condom into the air and when the whoremongers saw it go up, they all wanted to buy one. They would come up to him, buy a condom, and his sales would go up again. He continued this process all day. One day, he felt someone tugging at his jacket. He turned around and saw a little boy who asked, “If you release a black condom, would that also sell?” Moved by the boy’s concern, the man replied with empathy, “Son, it is not the color of the condom, it is what is inside that results in such a stupid fucking question.”
The same thing applies to our lives. Let’s face it – we’re all unintentional byproducts of some primal grinding in the sack, our birth certificates, an apology from the condom factory.
Have you ever wondered why some individuals, organizations, or countries are more successful than others? HST once said, “Some people get rich and others eat shit and die.” It is not a secret. These people simply have a larger appetite than you do, they have learned how to enrich themselves by investing in the most valuable asset — coal blocks. I believe that the success of an individual, organization depends on the quality of their coal block allocations.
Unless you’re a direct beneficiary of the vampire economy that wages a global war for resources, profits from poverty, or an entrepreneur that scores land from the govt at Rs. 1/sq. metre, I’d wager your odds of striking it rich are pretty dismal.
I have spoken to executives in major corporations all over the world and asked one question: “If you had a magic wand and there was one thing you would want changed, that would give you a cutting edge in the marketplace resulting in increased productivity and profits, what would that be?” The answer was unanimous. They all said that if they won tax-free holidays on government contracts to strip-mine forests, mineral-rich belts, acquire rights to privatise water and do away with environmental clearances, their company would make a great profit for shareholders. They would be on the cover of Forbes.
Veteran muckraker Barbara Ehrenreich said, “Positivity and magical thinking may actually make illnesses worse, prompt us to seek wars we can’t win, make us waste time and money “improving” ourselves when the real impediments to happiness lie far beyond our control, and make bankers believe they’re benevolent demigods.”
History has shown that human resources is the most valuable asset of any empire. It is more valuable than capital or equipment. Unfortunately, only 14 million Indians are modern-day slaves. These people can be your biggest asset or your biggest liability.
